Jewell’s Country Market was founded 20 years ago, in 1998, by Edwin and Dawn Jewell from York, Prince Edward Island. In 2018, Chris and Zuzana Seemann took over the Country Market and continue to run the most beautiful greenhouse operation on the island.
We have a wonderful team of dedicated people, most of whom have been with Jewell’s Country Market for many years. We are ready and willing to help all who visit with us, ensuring the best quality, service, and expert advice for all our customers.
Jewell’s Country Market started in 1998 as a roadside stand, operated by Edwin Jewell and his two brothers, Irwin and Dale. The three brothers and their sister Eleanor were raised just up the road in York, where their parents, Parker and Irene Jewell had settled, continuing a long history of many generations as farmers and market gardeners.
Just one year later, in 1999, a new 5600 sqft market was opened. In 2000, Edwin bought out his partners. He and his wife Dawn and their three children, Emily, Jordan and Alana, started constructing the greenhouses and making Jewell’s Country Market a PEI landmark.
Today, our plants are carefully arranged in more than 50,000 sqft of greenhouse space. An outside show area, carefully prepared by Chris and Zuzana, their two children Alexandra and Mark, and the entire team, provides a festival of colors and aromas.
A visit to Jewell’s Country Market will allow you to browse around and relax while choosing your own plants amongst our wide offering of healthy flowers, plants and shrubs – and taking home with you their vibrant colors and natural beauty.
