Jewell’s Country Market was founded in 1998 by Edwin & Dawn Jewell and although it has changed ownership in recent years it continues to run as the most beautiful greenhouse operation on the island.
Jewell’s Country Market began as a roadside stand operated by Edwin Jewell and his brothers Irwin and Dale. The three brothers along with their sister Eleanor were raised just up the road in York, where their parents Parker & Irene Jewell had settled, thus continuing a long history of many generations of farmers and market gardeners.
In 1999 a new 5600 sqft market was opened and in 2000, Edwin bought out his partners. He, his wife Dawn, and their three children started constructing the greenhouses at the current location creating Jewell’s Country Market into a PEI landmark.
We have a wonderful team of dedicated people, most of whom have been with Jewell’s Country Market for many years. We are ready and willing to help all who visit whilst ensuring the best quality, service, and expert advice for all our customers.
Today, our plants are carefully arranged in more than 50,000 sqft of greenhouse space. We also have an outside show area that is carefully prepared by the entire team and provides a festival of colors and aromas. In addition to the greenhouse offerings, we have a produce and giftware market, dairy & fudge bar, beer garden, goat petting pen and entertainment for children.
A visit to Jewell’s Country Market will allow you to browse around and relax while choosing your own plants amongst our wide offering of healthy flowers, plants, and shrubs – add their vibrant colours and natural beauty to your home this season.
